Biography

Carline Desiré serves as the Executive Director of the Association of Haitian Women, Inc. (AFAB) and the KAFANM Housing Project. With a deep commitment to social and economic justice, she has dedicated her career to empowering women and fostering community resilience.

Ms. Desiré holds a B.A. in International Relations from the University of Boston, an M.S. in Community Economic Development (CED) from New Hampshire College, an M.A. in CED and Policy from Southern New Hampshire University, and an M.Ed. from the University of Massachusetts/Boston.

Her advocacy in domestic violence (DV) prevention was galvanized by personal tragedy, the loss of a close friend to domestic violence. This profound event reinforced her mission to help women reclaim their strength, independence, and rightful place as leaders in society.

Influenced by the resilience of her mother and grandmother, Ms. Desiré deeply admires the countless unsung heroines who champion the leadership and empowerment of women and girls worldwide.
