Biography

Global Executive | Founder & President, Appolon Strategies LLC | President, American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham Haiti)

Andress Appolon is a global executive specializing in building and managing complex, capital-intensive enterprises for sustainable performance and growth. Equally at home in the boardroom, on a construction site, pitching clients, or leading a policy discussion, she brings a rare 360-degree perspective to the investment ecosystem—combining strategic leadership and governance with the practical realities of execution on the ground.

Today, as Founder and President of Appolon Strategies LLC, Appolon provides specialized strategy, investment advisory, institutional representation, and high-stakes negotiation across emerging markets. Her work draws on more than two decades of experience aligning governments, investors, operators, and development institutions around complex investments and strategic mandates. Most recently, that work has expanded into Africa, where she has been tapped by the World Bank to serve as a peer advisor to utility CEOs navigating complex operational and institutional challenges across the continent.

Appolon also serves as President of the American Chamber of Commerce in Haiti (AmCham Haiti) and a Vice President at the Association of American Chambers of Commerce in Latin America and the Caribbean (AACCLA). Through her private-sector leadership, she champions trade and commerce and works to strengthen relationships between business, government, and institutions to support investment and sustainable economic growth.

That perspective has been forged through executive leadership, enterprise building, capital stewardship, and investment across both the public and private sectors. Most recently, she served as CEO of Lafito Industrial Free Zone S.A. and Port Lafito S.A., the cornerstone operations within Haiti’s first fully integrated economic zone. There, she built and managed an $80 million+ integrated industrial platform before assuming an expanded Board mandate to simultaneously lead the adjoining $200 million international container port.

Her earlier experience includes leading a national electric utility through a post-earthquake power rehabilitation and financial recovery plan and, on the Board of the Inter-American Development Bank, stewarding a $2 billion infrastructure development portfolio. She began her finance career on Wall Street, structuring major infrastructure and public-sector investments.

Appolon currently serves on the Board of Directors of ACME S.A. and is a returning Guest Lecturer at Carnegie Mellon University’s Center for Leadership Studies. She holds a Master in Public Policy from Harvard University’s Kennedy School of Government and a Bachelor of Humanities & Arts from Carnegie Mellon University.
