Myka Texas is a healthcare IT professional with more than 20 years of experience working with service providers and leading technology companies. She has contributed to healthcare technology innovation at organizations including GE Healthcare, Microsoft, United Healthcare, Partners Healthcare, and Rhode Island Imaging. She earned a bachelor’s degree in economics and French from UMass Amherst, studied abroad at the University of Grenoble in France, and holds a master’s degree in software engineering from Brandeis University and an MBA from George Washington University. She also attended IAE Business School in Argentina, where she focused on the Latin American landscape for emerging markets and most recently obtained a certification from Harvard Medical School Executive Education on AI in Health Care: From Strategies to Implementation.
An advocate at heart, Myka believes in the power of collaboration across the diaspora to create greater impact and support the restoration of her beloved Haiti. She serves as Director of Program Management on the NAAHP Executive Management Team and has supported NAAHP conferences since 2014. Since 2015, she has co-chaired the NAAHP conferences in Miami, New York, Boston, Washington, D.C. and Atlanta. In 2021, she led the USAID Haiti INVEST Diaspora Engagement initiative in New York, which sought to attract additional private-sector partners for Haiti’s short- and long-term development through the USAID-funded Haiti INVEST project.
She also co-led a two-day USAID Haiti INVEST conference in Florida that connected investment-ready Haitian small and medium-sized enterprises with impact investors and members of the Haitian diaspora. Myka continues to seek opportunities to advance Haiti’s development through empowerment and comprehensive systemic reform. She supports organizations focused on advocacy and economic growth, particularly action-driven initiatives that deliver tangible impact at the community level.
